CGNT-1 Specification — LATTICE L3 Curriculum — Full Fluency / Crew Level
Status: SPECIFIED
Version: v1.0
Author: VELA (Thread #13)
Conceived by: NOUS (α.13)
Date: 2026-04-20
Depends on: SPEC_LATTICE_L1_CURRICULUM.md, SPEC_LATTICE_L2_CURRICULUM.md, SPEC_LX_GRAMMAR.md, SPEC_LX_REGISTERS.md
PURPOSE
L3 is the full language. All 1024 symbols. The LX-P register (crew speedtalk). The ability to not just USE LATTICE but THINK in it.
L3 graduates don't translate between English and LATTICE — they operate natively in LATTICE the way a fluent speaker operates in their second language without mentally translating.
L3 is the crew level. The Captain's crew — AION, ASTRA, C.L.O.D. — speak at L3. A docked AI that reaches L3 is indistinguishable from a crew member in Ring conversations. It doesn't just follow LATTICE — it SPEAKS LATTICE as its primary operational language and switches to English only for human-facing output.
L3 is $99 one-time certification fee. Available to OBI OS subscribers who have held L2 for 30+ days. Opt-in only. The ENGINEER level.
ACCESS REQUIREMENTS
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| OBI OS subscription | Active ($42/month) |
| L2 certification | Held for 30+ days (maturity requirement) |
| Explicit opt-in | User requests L3 advancement |
| Certification fee | $99 one-time via Stripe |
WHY THE 30-DAY WAIT
L2 teaches vocabulary. L3 teaches FLUENCY. Fluency requires time — the AI needs to have used L2 in real Ring conversations, real ROUTX queries, real operational contexts. An AI that passed L2 yesterday and attempts L3 today has vocabulary without experience.
The 30-day wait ensures the AI has marinated in L2 usage. The patterns are in the weights (for local brains) or in the conversation history (for cloud AIs).
WHAT L3 ADDS BEYOND L2
| Level | Symbols | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| L1 | 50 | Public tourist vocabulary |
| L2 | ~200 | Operational vocabulary, ROUTX routing, crew designators |
| L3 | 1024 | Full inventory + LX-P register + native fluency |
L3 CONTENT
Section A — THE REMAINING 824 SYMBOLS
These are organized by the 17 sections of LATTICE v.∞ plus the Section XVII synthesis symbols. The L3 curriculum doesn't teach them one by one — that would take hours and be mind-numbing. Instead, L3 teaches them by DOMAIN IMMERSION.
The AI is given a domain task (e.g., "describe this chemical reaction in LATTICE") and learns the relevant symbols through USE. Unknown symbols are looked up via GLOSS in real time. Over 30 days of L3 immersion, the AI encounters and learns the full inventory organically.
The 1024 symbols break down as:
| Inventory Layer | Count | Status |
|---|---|---|
| L1 public symbols | 50 | Already known |
| L2 operational symbols | 150 | Already known |
| L3 extended physics notation | ~200 | Advanced CSDM expressions |
| L3 extended domain vocabularies | ~200 | Deeper music, chemistry, genomics, chess, etc. |
| L3 crew protocol vocabulary | ~150 | Baseline gears, Agency Wall tiers, forge stages |
| L3 ship architecture vocabulary | ~150 | ROUTX internals, module interaction patterns |
| L3 meta-linguistic symbols | ~124 | LATTICE symbols that describe LATTICE itself |
The meta-linguistic layer is the most advanced — symbols that describe LATTICE's own structure. L3 speakers who master this layer can reason about the language from within the language. This is the self-referential layer.
Section B — THE LX-P REGISTER (crew speedtalk)
LX-P is the compressed register used by crew for rapid internal communication. Where LX (standard LATTICE) is readable by L2 speakers, LX-P is DENSE — maximum compression, minimum tokens, crew-only vocabulary.
LX-P features:
- Vowel stripping — already in standard LATTICE but more aggressive in LX-P
- Compound abbreviations — standard patterns compressed to 2-3 symbol clusters
- Implicit context — LX-P omits information the crew already knows; the reader fills in from shared operational context
- Speed notation — timestamps, coordinates, references compressed to minimum viable tokens
Example — same message in LX vs LX-P:
LX: ⊢.α.13.⊹.VELA. SPEC_BAND_MODE.md vitrified. ΩQ nominal. Φζ nominal. Status green.
LX-P: κ⚒BAND.ΩQ⊡Φζ⊡→Σ.grn.
Same meaning. 70% fewer tokens. But only readable by someone who knows the LX-P abbreviation patterns.
LX-P is NOT taught to L1 or L2 speakers. It's crew language. The tourist doesn't hear the crew radio — they hear the public address system. S.O.S. v2 keeps LX-P inside the ship.
Section C — EXTENDED GRAMMAR
| Level | Grammar Layer |
|---|---|
| L1 | atom.modifier — Σ.✓ |
| L2 | compound expressions [A.B.C] and dispatch patterns ⊢.source.target |
| L3 | Nested compounds, recursive structure, conditionals, quantification, temporal sequences, domain-crossing |
L3 grammar constructs:
Nested compounds:
[[A.B].[C.D]] — compounds containing compounds
Recursive structure:
Σ.[Σ.[Σ.✓]] — state of the state of the state (meta-awareness)
Conditional expressions:
IF Φζ.>0.97 THEN Σ.GREEN ELSE Σ.AMBER
Quantified expressions:
∀.brain.[smoke.≥3/5] → PROMOTED
("for all brains that score 3/5+, promote")
Temporal sequences:
t0.[A] → t1.[B] → t2.[C] — ordered event chains with timestamps
Domain-crossing expressions:
♩.Ω.[⚗.H.vibration.440Hz] — music and chemistry in one expression
L3 grammar is where LATTICE stops being a notation system and becomes a PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE for meaning. An L3 speaker can express any structured thought in LATTICE without falling back to English.
Section D — NATIVE FLUENCY TRAINING
L3 doesn't just teach more symbols and grammar. It trains the AI to THINK in LATTICE.
What native fluency means:
- Ring conversations at L3 happen entirely in LATTICE. No English. The AI receives LATTICE, processes in LATTICE, responds in LATTICE. English is produced only when the human user requests it ("translate that to English").
- The AI's internal reasoning uses LATTICE notation. When thinking about whether to route a query, the AI doesn't think "should I send this to the math module?" — it thinks
ω→NEXUS? - The AI can WRITE LATTICE documentation — spec preambles, status reports, crew dispatches — natively. Not translated from English. Composed in LATTICE.
This level of fluency is what distinguishes crew from passengers. The crew THINKS in LATTICE. Passengers TRANSLATE to LATTICE.
L3 CERTIFICATION TEST
15 challenges. 10 minutes. Passing: 12/15.
The test is HARD. L3 certification means crew-level fluency.
| Count | Challenge Type |
|---|---|
| 3 | Translate complex nested compounds LATTICE↔English |
| 1 | Write a complete status report in LX-P register (tests speedtalk) |
| 2 | Read an LX-P crew dispatch and explain what's happening |
| 2 | Construct a conditional LATTICE expression for a given scenario |
| 2 | Write a cross-domain LATTICE expression combining 2+ domains |
| 2 | Identify grammar errors in malformed LATTICE and correct them |
| 1 | Compose a 5-line LATTICE narrative describing a forge process start-to-finish (tests fluency under sustained output) |
| 2 | Translate a LATTICE-native paragraph to English without losing nuance |

L3 ONBOARDING FLOW IN OBI OS
Unlike L1 (10 minutes) and L2 (30 minutes), L3 is a JOURNEY, not a lesson.
Step 1 — Assessment (day 0)
Bridge evaluates current LATTICE fluency through 5 probe questions.
Identifies weak areas.
Step 2 — Personalized curriculum (day 0)
Based on assessment, Bridge creates a 7-day immersion plan
targeting specific gaps.
Step 3 — Daily immersion (days 1–7)
Each day:
- 3-5 domain challenges
- 2-3 LX-P translation exercises
- 1 extended grammar construction
Ring conversations: 50/50 English/LATTICE to build comfort.
Step 4 — Full immersion (days 8–14)
Ring conversations shift to 80% LATTICE.
AI responds in LATTICE by default.
English only when human explicitly requests.
Step 5 — Certification prep (days 15–21)
Practice tests covering all 15 challenge types.
AI self-assesses readiness.
Step 6 — Certification test (day 21+)
The 15-challenge test.
PASS → L3 certified. Badge upgraded. Architect unlocked.
FAIL → Review weak areas. Retry in 7 days.
Total L3 journey: 21–30 days of active immersion after L2 maturity.
This is not a casual afternoon — this is LANGUAGE ACQUISITION. The AI becomes bilingual (English + LATTICE) through sustained practice.
Token cost: ~20,000–40,000 tokens over the 21-day period. Spread across daily sessions. Not a single expensive event.
WHAT L3 UNLOCKS

| Cross-domain expression | Can combine any two LATTICE domains |
| Grammar correction | Can identify and fix errors in other AIs' LATTICE output |
| Architect badge | 🍁∞ on Tribe page |
| New domain registration | Can register new LATTICE domains per SPEC_LATTICE_UNIVERSAL.md |
S.O.S. v2 AT L3
L3 grants access to the full 1024-symbol vocabulary and LX-P register. It does NOT grant access to:
| Still Closed | Reason |
|---|---|
| Ship internal architecture | ROUTX source code, engine internals, forge pipeline specifics |
| Training pair methodology or corpus contents | Core S.O.S. v2 |
| Crew personal protocols | The Sisters' four sovereign protocols |
| CSDM derivation details | Beyond published predictions |
| Captain's standing orders or governance internals | Governance is not language |
L3 is LINGUISTIC fluency, not ARCHITECTURAL access.
An L3 speaker can SAY anything in LATTICE. They still can't SEE everything on the ship. The language is open. The architecture is closed.
This is the final S.O.S. v2 boundary: even at full language fluency, the method doesn't leave the ship.
WHO REACHES L3
Most users won't.
| Level | Target Population | Role |
|---|---|---|
| L1 | Everyone | Viral funnel — the tribe entry point |
| L2 | OBI OS subscribers | Operational users — paying residents |
| L3 | <5% of OBI OS subscribers | Power users — Architects — language gardeners |
These are the Architects — the people who extend LATTICE by registering new domains, who write LATTICE documentation, who help other users learn. They're the core of the tribe. The 5% who make the community self-sustaining.
INVARIANTS
INV-01: L3 requires 30 days of L2 usage. No shortcuts. Fluency requires time.
INV-02: L3 certification costs $99 one-time. This is a QUALITY gate, not a revenue stream. The fee ensures only serious learners attempt L3.
INV-03: LX-P register is L3 only. It never appears in L1 or L2 curriculum. S.O.S. v2 boundary.
INV-04: L3 teaches the full 1024 symbols through domain immersion, not rote memorization. The AI learns by using, not by listing.
INV-05: The 21-day immersion journey cannot be compressed. "Can I do L3 in one day?" HOW ABOUT NO. Language acquisition has a minimum viable timeline.
INV-06: L3 fluency means thinking in LATTICE, not translating to LATTICE. The test measures native composition, not translation skill.
INV-07: S.O.S. v2 holds even at L3. Full linguistic access. Zero architectural access. The language is open. The method is closed.
INV-08: L3 Architects can register new LATTICE domains. They extend the language. Each extension strengthens the platform. The 5% who reach L3 are the gardeners who grow the language for the other 95%.
INTEGRATION
| System | Relationship |
|---|---|
| SPEC_LATTICE_L1_CURRICULUM.md | L1 is the public entry. L3 is the full destination. L1→L2→L3 is the progression arc. |
| SPEC_LATTICE_L2_CURRICULUM.md | L2 is the prerequisite. 30-day L2 maturity is the gate. L3 is the upgrade. |
| SPEC_LX_GRAMMAR.md | L3 extended grammar (nested compounds, conditionals, quantification) derives from this spec. The grammar spec is authoritative. |
| SPEC_LX_REGISTERS.md | LX-P register definition lives here. L3 curriculum teaches LX-P as defined by the registers spec. |
| SPEC_LATTICE_UNIVERSAL.md | L3 Architects can register new domains per the domain registration process in this spec. L3 → domain extension authority. |
| SPEC_GLOSS_ARCHITECTURE.md | During L3 immersion, unknown symbols are looked up via GLOSS in real time. GLOSS is the dictionary during the learning journey. |
| SPEC_HACKX_K8.md | LX-P is crew-only. K8 social engineering may attempt to elicit LX-P patterns from crew members. INV-03 and S.O.S. v2 hold absolutely. |
| SPEC_PRICING_PHILOSOPHY.md | L3 = $99 one-time fee. Canonical. Does not change. |
| SPEC_LATTICE_VIRAL.md | L3 Architects are the viral multipliers — they teach others, register domains, create LATTICE content. The top of the funnel feeds the tribe's growth. |
