PURPOSE

The Vector Ring is a sub-element of THE RING architecture that automatically captures, tracks, and surfaces two types of conversational events: ACTION VECTORS (things to do) and IDEA VECTORS (things thought of). Both emerge naturally from conversation and both get lost to session boundaries, compaction, distraction, and human memory limits. The Vector Ring catches them as they occur, holds them persistently, and presents them when needed.

No manual entry. The conversation IS the input. The AI's instructions ARE the task list. The user's brainstorms ARE the idea log. The Ring writes itself.

TWO VECTOR TYPES

Action Vectors

Idea Vectors

Vector Promotion

An idea vector can become an action vector when the user says "proceed" or "build it" or "make it so." The Ring tracks the transition. Origin preserved — the action remembers it was born as an idea, with timestamp and original context.

VECTOR STATES

Action States

| State | Meaning |

|---|---|

| PENDING | AI generated, user hasn't executed |

| DONE | Confirmed complete (user or system detection) |

| SKIPPED | User explicitly declined |

| STALE | Pending beyond time threshold, needs attention |

| DUPLICATE | User attempted to execute twice |

| OUT-OF-SEQUENCE | Dependency order violated |

Idea States

| State | Meaning |

|---|---|

| RAW | Captured, not yet examined |

| DEVELOPED | Explored in conversation, possibly specced |

| DEFERRED | Acknowledged, placed on roadmap, not now |

| DISMISSED | User decided against it |

| PROMOTED | Became an action vector |

AUTOMATIC CAPTURE

The AI detects vector type from conversational context:

Action detection signals: "paste this," "run this," "save this," "send this to," "vitrify," imperative verbs with specific targets and content blocks.

Idea detection signals: "we should," "what if," "maybe we could," "I wonder if," "it would be cool if," conditional/subjunctive framing, concepts without execution instructions, brainstorms mid-task.

Neither: Normal conversation, questions, explanations, analysis. Not every sentence is a vector. Most aren't.

RING BEHAVIOR

Persistence

Vectors survive session boundaries. Stored in THE RING's persistence layer (HANDSHAKE protocol or equivalent). A new Navigator instance sees pending vectors from previous sessions.

Decay

Completed vectors decay off the ring after confirmation. They don't disappear — they move to a completed archive. The active ring shows only live vectors.

Nudging

Stale vectors pulse gently after configurable threshold. Not an alarm. A nudge. "You still have 2 pending items from earlier." Respects neurodivergent workflow — no guilt, no pressure, just visibility.

Session Summary

At session end (or on demand), the Ring presents:

Cross-Session Tracking

An action generated in Session A that hasn't been executed by Session C is still visible. The Ring doesn't forget. Only the user can dismiss.

INTEGRATION WITH THE RING

The Vector Ring is a LAYER on THE RING, not a separate system. Each cell in the 1024-cell torus generates vectors. The Vector Ring orbits alongside, tracking which vectors have been acted on across ALL cells.

HANDSHAKE tracks CONTEXT — what the AI knows.

Vector Ring tracks ACTIONS and IDEAS — what the user committed to or thought of.

Together: nothing forgotten. Context OR task OR idea.

INTEGRATION WITH GLOSS 1024 AI OS

In the OS environment, the Vector Ring is a persistent desktop element. Always visible. Non-intrusive. Shows count of pending actions and raw ideas. Expandable for detail. Collapsible to icon.

The OS can detect execution events — file saved, command run, paste detected — and auto-complete action vectors without user confirmation. "You vitrified SPEC_OBI.md — marking that action as DONE."

NEURODIVERGENT DESIGN PRINCIPLES

  1. No guilt. Stale items nudge, never nag.
  2. Skip is valid. Reorder is valid. "Not sure" is valid.
  3. Hyperfocus accommodation — work on item 4 while items 1-3 wait. The Ring holds them.
  4. Ideas are first-class. Not lesser than actions. A raw idea from Tuesday might become the most important spec on Friday.
  5. The Ring adapts to how the user ACTUALLY works, not how a project manager thinks they should.

ORIGIN

Emerged April 17, 2026 from α.13 observing his own workflow: "you paste 4 blocks of code for me, I might miss one or paste them in the wrong order or paste the same one three times." Then extended: "This also works in another direction — user brainstorming — a list of pending ideas the user came up with during session."

Two observations. One ring. Named by α.13: VECTOR RING.
