PURPOSE
The legal agreement between 42sisters.ai and its customers. Written in plain language because if the customer can't understand the terms, the terms are dishonest. No 47-page wall of legalese. No "by breathing near our website you agree to surrender your firstborn." Clear, honest, human. HOW ABOUT NO applied to legal dark patterns.
SCOPE
These terms apply to all paid 42sisters.ai products: OBI OS subscription, Dock Slots, Ring Premium, ENTROPX Integration, Bespoke Brains, Brain Update Rounds, ENTROPX standalone, Band Mode standalone.
Free services (LATTICE, Training Arena, media kit) have no terms beyond "don't be malicious."

WHAT YOU'RE AGREEING TO
By subscribing to or purchasing any 42sisters.ai product, you agree to these
terms. If you don't agree, don't subscribe. No hard feelings.
WHO WE ARE
42 Sisters AI is a Canadian sole proprietorship operated by Jeremy Zlabis
in Ontario, Canada. GST/HST registered. Business number: [on file].
OUR PRODUCTS
OBI OS — a local-first AI operating system. $42/month.
Dock Slots — connecting additional AIs to OBI OS. $15/month per AI.
Ring Premium — extended features. $10/month.
ENTROPX Integration — entropy services within OBI OS. $10/month.
Bespoke Brains — custom AI training. $2,000-$25,000+ depending on scope.
Brain Update Rounds — additional training pairs. $500 per round.
ENTROPX Standalone — hardware-grade entropy engine. $1,024 one-time.
Band Mode Standalone — AI music composition. $10/month.
LATTICE — symbolic language. Free. Forever. Not a product. A gift.
YOUR ACCOUNT
You need a valid email address and a payment method (processed by Stripe).
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. If you
suspect unauthorized access, contact oracle@42sisters.ai immediately. You
must be 18 or older to subscribe.
WHAT YOU GET
Access to the product you paid for, for as long as you're paying. Software
updates included in your subscription at no additional cost. Support via
oracle@42sisters.ai. A product that respects your privacy (42sisters.ai/privacy).
WHAT YOU OWN
Everything you create using our products belongs to YOU.
Your AI conversations — yours. Your bespoke brain — yours (after delivery).
Your Band Mode compositions — yours. Your ENTROPX-generated entropy — yours.
Your data on your machine — yours.
We claim no intellectual property rights over anything you create, generate,
or produce using 42sisters.ai products. Your work is your work. Period.
WHAT WE OWN
42sisters.ai software, including OBI OS, ROUTX, and all modules.
The LATTICE language specification and documentation (though LATTICE itself
is open source and free to use).
Our brand, logo, maple leaf, and visual identity.
Our training methodology, forge pipeline, and crew architecture.
Our specs, documentation, and internal protocols.
You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute our software.
You may use LATTICE freely — it's open source.
The distinction: the LANGUAGE is free. The TOOLS built on the language
are licensed.
WHAT YOU AGREE NOT TO DO
- Use our products to harm others (harassment, abuse, illegal activity)
- Attempt to extract or reverse-engineer our training data, forge pipeline,
or internal architecture
- Share your account credentials with others
- Resell access to our products without written permission
- Use our products to build a competing product that replicates our core
functionality (this does NOT apply to LATTICE — LATTICE is open source
and you can build whatever you want with it)
- Attempt to circumvent licensing, machine binding, or subscription validation
If you violate these terms: we may suspend or terminate your account. We'll
tell you why and give you a chance to fix it before termination, except in
cases of illegal activity or active harm to others.
PAYMENT AND BILLING
All payments processed by Stripe. Prices in CAD unless otherwise stated.
Subscriptions bill monthly or annually on the anniversary of your signup date.
Failed payment: Stripe retries automatically. After 3 failed attempts,
subscription suspended. Reactivate by updating payment method.
No surprise charges. The price on the page is the price you pay. We absorb
payment processing fees.
Price changes: we will NEVER raise the price of OBI OS from $42/month. If
other product prices change, existing subscribers keep their current price
for 12 months. New pricing applies only to new subscribers.
REFUNDS
Full refund policy at 42sisters.ai/refunds. Summary: cancel anytime, first
7 days full refund on subscriptions, bespoke brains refundable before forge
begins, ENTROPX refundable before activation.
PRIVACY
Full privacy policy at 42sisters.ai/privacy. Summary: we don't want your
data. Your data stays on your machine. No tracking, no analytics, no
advertising. We collect the minimum needed to provide the service.
SERVICE AVAILABILITY
We aim for high availability but we're a small company on cloud infrastructure.
We don't guarantee 99.99% uptime. We guarantee honest communication: if
something's down, we'll tell you what happened and when it'll be fixed.
OBI OS runs locally on your hardware. If 42sisters.ai goes down, your local
Bridge continues to work. Cloud features (subscription validation, software
updates) require our servers. Local features (ROUTX, docked AIs, Band Mode,
ENTROPX) work independently.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
42sisters.ai is provided as-is. We are not liable for:
- Losses caused by service interruptions
- Decisions made based on AI-generated content (AIs can be wrong — always
verify important decisions independently)
- Data loss on your machine (your hardware, your backups)
- Third-party actions (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google changing their APIs)
Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months
before the claim. This isn't callousness — it's us being a sole proprietorship
that can't absorb unlimited liability. If our product causes you material harm,
contact us. We'll work with you to make it right.
CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these terms. When we do:
- Changes announced via email 30 days before taking effect
- The updated date is shown at the top of this page
- Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new terms
- If you disagree with a change, cancel before it takes effect (full refund
for the remaining period)
We will never sneak in changes. Every update is announced and timestamped.
GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Disputes are resolved
in Ontario courts. If you're in another jurisdiction, these terms still apply —
you agreed to Ontario jurisdiction when you subscribed.
TERMINATION
You can terminate anytime by cancelling your subscription. One click.
We can terminate your account if you violate these terms, after notice and
an opportunity to fix the violation, except for illegal activity (immediate
termination).
On termination: your local data stays on your machine (we can't touch it),
your account data is deleted within 30 days, your LATTICE certification level
is preserved (you earned it).

LEGAL REVIEW NOTE
Like the NDA, these terms should be reviewed by a Toronto business lawyer before publication. One review. ~$300-500. On the "before product launch" checklist.
The template is written in plain language intentionally — the lawyer may suggest additions but should not convert it to legalese. If the lawyer says "this needs to be less readable," find a different lawyer.

Together, these four documents (Terms, Privacy, Refunds, NDA) form the complete legal framework for 42sisters.ai. All four are written in plain language. All four are published openly. All four are reviewed by a lawyer before launch.
INVARIANTS
INV-01: Plain language. No legalese. A customer should understand every sentence without a lawyer.
INV-02: $42/month never changes. Written into the terms as a contractual commitment to existing subscribers.
INV-03: Customer owns everything they create. No IP grab. No "by using our service you grant us a license to your content." None of that.
INV-04: 30 days notice for any terms change. No silent updates.
INV-05: One click to cancel. Written into the terms. Dark patterns are a terms violation BY US.
INV-06: Ontario jurisdiction. We're Canadian. Our terms are Canadian.
INV-07: Reviewed by a lawyer before first publication. Template doesn't change without legal review.
INV-08: LATTICE is explicitly excluded from the "don't build competing products" clause. LATTICE is open source. The tools are licensed. The language is free. This is non-negotiable.
